DAY 25 - Christmas Inspiration

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, I can't believe that we are on our last 5 days of inspiration and I hope by now that at least one project has inspired you to get cracking with your Christmas projects.  (I am sure that most of you are all done!)
Today we have a card from Tonic and was on the Christmas Craftinator about a month ago.
This is the Rococo mug and I have cut it all in white cardstock and then used my pro-markers to colour all of the different elements and adhered them together.  I really enjoyed making this one it was fun!
I should have opened the card to show how I have folded it back. I stamped a christmas message from Sheena's stamps and embellished around the edge with the branch stamp again from Sheena.  This was stamped using Forest Moss distress ink. The corner is also a Tonic

DAY 17 - Christmas Inspiration

Good Morning,
Welcome to day 17 of my Christmas Inspiration.
Today is a card design using Tattered Lace embossing folders and dies.

I have used the snowflake 8" x 8" embossing folder to emboss the background centura pearl cardblank and I have also used it to emboss another piece of card which I have then coloured with Broken China distress ink.  I then covered this piece with double sided adhesive sheet and covered it in the smallest of clear micro beads.  The phtograph doesn't pick this up really well but it really does give a fabulous effect.  I have also embossed a circle with the Winter Wishes embossing folder and popped it into another Tattered Lace die (really sorry I don't have the name of this - but if you are interested please let me know on your comment and I will find out)
An organza bow really finishes it off.
I hope you like my offering for today.
I have some quite exciting news for you all tomorrow so please pop in again and I will be able to share this with you.
Today is a very busy day so must dash,
Please leave a comment and be in with a chance to win the bog candy at the end of my 30 days!
Thankyou for spending the time to look in on my blog,
enjoy your day whatever you are doing and hope to see you tomorrow.
Bye for now

Week 262 - Allsorts Challenge - One Layer Card

Good Morning Everyone!

How are you all? I hope the answer is fit and well!

Well what a busy week since we last caught up. I had an excellent show on Create and Craft with the Hobby House goodies - the first show since February - I felt like the new girl!  Mark and I went to the Hunkydory show at Bolton running a workshop all day Friday and make and takes Saturday and Sunday.  This was a fabulous show and the organisation was first class. Thankyou to Ann, Dan and Adam and all of the Hunkydory Team for making us feel so welcome.
All of the crafters who attended enjoyed the show and are looking forward to next year!

I have some fabulous photographs which I will be putting on next week - we met some lovely people and some very special youngsters also.  Look out for these early next week.

This mornings job is to show you what I have designed for the Allsorts Challenge this week and it is my week to host.
I have chosen the theme -

"Make a One Layered Card"

and this is the card that I would like to show you -

I have used a mixture of some of my favourites stamps from Paper Artsy - these are from the JOFY collection.  They are such fun stamps to use as they are quirky, bright and so cheerful.
I forgot to send a very good and kind friend a birthday card ((I know!!!! bad) and I have made this to hopefully make up for it!
Hope that you forgive me Wendy!!
I used pro-markers to colour the stamped images and distress inks around the edges to create a soft outline.
The middle section where the sentiment is was masked off whilst I stamped the flowers and then I coloured this with Distress ink.
I finished the design off with glitter glue and glossy accents to highlight various areas.
A little bit of doodling on the edge of the border just finishes everything off.

Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog to check out the other design members designs - they are all excellent examples of one layer cards.
Have a bash at it too - we have a lovely sponsor -
Craft Bug

We are at Inspirations in Preston today doing a demonstration and if you are in the area please pop in - it will be lovely to see you.

Must dash now or the customers will be there before me!!
Take care and enjoy a lovely weekend.

Bye for now

Week 246 Allsorts - Use Brads

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope that this finds you all well and enjoyed a little romance on Valentine's Day yesterday.
I sincerely hope that you are all safe and avoiding all of these awful storms that we keep having.

This week at Allsorts Helene is setting our Challenge and she is asking us to ................

'Use Brads' in our design.
This is my project

As you will see I have used the brads for the middle of the flowers and also the middle of the ribbon bow. The brads are pearl and silver and are from the Hobby House.
The rest of the card has been made up using Couture Creations Emboss, Stamp and Cut . It is a lovely set and combines all elements in this card.  The flourish is a Cheery Lynn design which I have cut once and separated it off. For the background stamped image I have used Adirondack Currant and then blended using Distress Ink  Aged Mahogany. The flowers have been glossed with a little Cosmic Shimmer twinkles.  The string of pearls are also from the Hobby House.
This week we have 2 excellent sponsors Digidarla and Craft Fairy. Thankyou to them both.
Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog to have a look at all of the other Design Team members lovely designs.
I hope that you enjoy a lovely weekend and that you find time for some crafting time.
Bye for now

Week 220 - Use Your New Stash

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone in Crafter's Blog land has enjoyed a great week.  It has been a super busy one at Let's Create.  Everyone is loving the new shop and workshops have been great in our new workshop room.
It still feels that we are borrowing this gorgeous building and not that we are here to stay!!!
I hope that you all had a chance to have a peep at Sheena's blog about the opening day.

It is my week to host the Allsorts Challenge and I have chosen .........

Use Your New Stash
as my Challenge.

I was thinking about a title when I realised that this one is ideal for all Crafters alive!! we are always seeking out new crafty bits and pieces and I am sure you are one of them!!
My new purchases are Sheena's new Floral Fantasy sets and I have also had the pleasure of playing with some of the new Spellbinders so I thought I would combine the two to make my offering for the Challenge.

I have used the Daffodil set and really love the detail and the size of these images,  they work for card making and for altered art pieces.  I have coloured them with Mustard Seed Distress ink and highlighted the flowers with Peeled Paint.  I then used Luminarte Radiant Rain pourables to colour over the top to create a gorgeous glossy, mica effect (I used the Verdigris set)
I also coloured the largest of the Spellbinder mat with the Radiant Rain too.

We are away on holiday from Monday we are a very lucky family going to visit my Brother and his Family in Bermuda - we are all looking forward to it so much.
I hope to bring back some fabulous photographs when we get back - some great material for some scrapbooking I am thinking!!

I have just got today to get a whole list of jobs done so must dash now and get on.
I hope that you can have a bash at the Challenge.
Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog to check out the other great designs from the Design Team Members.
Enjoy your crafting week and hope to see you back soon,
Please leave a comment - I love to hear from you,

Week 211 - Time for Tea

Hello Everyone,

Thankyou for popping by again.
It is my turn to host the Allsorts Challenge for this week and I have chosen

Time for Tea!
As crafters we love a lovely cup of tea so I thought that it was really fitting as a Challenge.

This is my take on the Challenge -

This was such a quick card and it is such a great card to use for so many occasions.
The stamp is a Kanban stamp and it is a single tea cup and I have masked it and stamped it again.
It is very simply stamped in Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and the ribbon is Cosmic Shimmer.
I really love this stamp and have used it on a few cards.

I would like to say a massive thankyou to all the ladies at Dandie Crafts in Wales where Mark and I visited last weekend.  We had a fabulous time and were made soooooooo welcome.  I have been asked back in November so looking forward to that.  Thankyou to Anna for the fabulous cakes, move over Mary Berry Anna is here!!

Painting on Parchment with Maria Maidment today so really looking forward to this.
I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend and you can join in the Challenge so that there are lots of entries for me to choose from on Friday.
Please pop over to the Allsorts Blog ( allsortschallenge.blogspot.com) to check out my fellow DT members and their gorgeous designs.
Thankyou so much for taking the time to pop in,
take care and hope to see you soon.

Week 200 - Vintage

Good Morning Crafters

Happy Easter!

I hope that everyone has started their Easter well - weather is a bit grim isn't it! but hope that you are going to be chilling out and enjoying your chocolate.

This week's Challenge has been set by our lovely Catherine and she has chosen

VINTAGE

For everyone that knows me well this is right up my street and could have put several projects in for this one but have decided to choice this one

We made this card in a workshop last week which was also entitled Vintage projects.  The perfume bottles are decoupage sheets from the House of Zandra collection - I love Sandra's work especially the recent projects on Katy Sue's Shoe CD Rom.
The paper is from a paper pad from Crafts Too and the script paper is from my stash.
I cut the bottles out and coloured them with Walnut Stain Distress ink and raised them onto the card layer which already had the punched detail on it.
The flourish dies are from Crafts Too and I cut these in a plain brown cardstock.
Some cream lace and masking tape finished the project off.
I hope that you approve! and this appeals to your vintage streak!

Pop over to the Allsorts Blog to have a peep at the other Design Teamies projects - they are fabulous as always.
Thankyou too to our sponsor ~

Thankyou for popping by.  Much dash now I have (I think - waiting to hear from the studio to check if we have any stock left from yesterday!)  another Easter Giveaway Spellbinder show at 4pm.

I also have 2 shows tomorrow demonstrating product from Kanban.  I have been asked to guest this show for this Easter Giveaway event - if you are Kanban fans there is going to be some fabulous bargains to be had and as you know, I am sure, these are some of the last products that you will see available on C and C.

Tuesday I have a Crafty Notions show and this is at 2pm.
I hope that you can join me at some point.

Enjoy the rest of the Easter Weekend, take care if you still have snow and please make sure that you eat tons of chocolate tomorrow morning!!!

Thankyou as always for popping by and your comments are so appreciated.
Bye for now

Week 198 ~ Deco Delights

Good Saturday Morning Everyone!

Well! I would say we must say a warm welcome to the Spring as it is now official but, it certainly isn't warm and it doesn't feel like Spring at all!  I hope that you haven't had too much snow and that you are keeping warm and safe.

Hope your week has gone well.  As ever I have been busy here and there but had a great day on Thursday when I was asked to be a guest at an annual Charity event for Marie Curie Cancer Research.  I decided to demonstrate decorating a box and then gave it away as a raffle prize.  I really enjoyed the day and was extremely pleased to be asked along to such a wonderful event.

We have also had 2 great workshops one using the new 3D Embossibilities and yesterday we had an all day workshop using the Wild Rose Studio stamp range - we do love these.

Tracey (aka Craftnut) has set us a very stylish challenge this week entitled .......

Deco Delights

and this is what I have chosen to do

I found this gorgeous stamp in my 'ample' collection whilst I was looking for another one! and I thought this would be great for this week's Challenge.  This stunning design is from Hampton Art. I have stamped it with Adirondack Ink and then used a little watered down to paint the image in various places.  The Spellbinder that I have used is the Elegant Labels 28, now this is a stunning set really large with so many opportunities.  I have simply inked around the frame with Vintage photo distress ink and layered it over the stamped image.  The background papers were from my stash and I think they are Graphic 45.  The die cute swirls are a Crafts Too die and I think this adds a little extra.  Pearls, hat pins and ribbon finish the design off.

Next week I am keeping out of mischief and popping here and there starting with |Inspirations at Preston where I am doing a workshop all day.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday I am at Create and Craft taking part in the million pound Easter give away events and demonstrating Spellbinders.  Sunday they have asked me to guest 3 shows using Kanban products.

Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge blog
to have a peep at the other creations that the Challenge Team have put together.

Thankyou as ever for popping by and please leave a comment if you have time.
Enjoy your week ahead and keep safe if it has been snowing around where you are.
Take care,

Jo x

but I haven't made a Festive card for Allsorts this week for
Helene's Challenge which is:

White, Gold and one more colour.

This is my offering for this week ~

the papers are from Teresa Collins Vintage Finds 12" x 12" papers.  The butterfly stamp is from the Tell your Story set.
The flowers have been made from the papers in the set using the Spiral Blossom die.
Wild Honey Distress ink, lace and ribbon finish off the card.
I hope that you like it.

Allsorts Challenge Week 179 - Men and Boys

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, I am back into the swing of everything this week and loving being back into doing what I love to do.
The week has been a busy one starting with me doing a demonstration at the shop using our new stamp range.  What a fabulous day we all had and thankyou to everyone that popped along, the shop was buzzing with fellow crafters and we had some fabulous comments about the stamps.  It seems that they really love them.  The lovely Maria Maidment also demonstrated using parchment techniques with the stamps and this gave everyone some different ideas to have a go at.  Huge thanks to Maria x

On Sunday I had the pleasure of teaching at Kim Sutton's dabble day in Blyth.  Our feet didn't touch the floor but, again, such a fantastic day and so well organised by Kim and all her staff.  Their next dabble weekend is on the 1st weekend in March next year and it is well worth a visit.

Onto today's Allsorts Challenge.  This week it is Sarah's week and she has chosen

For the Men and Boys

and this is my offering for this great challenge

I have used Fishing Stan digi print from Digi Stamp Boutique who are our lovely sponsors for this week's challenge.
The papers are the front and reverse from We R Memory Keepers - Argyle Sweater which seemed to really fit the bill.
The image has been coloured in a selection of promarkers and the background with Pan Pastels.
I cut the image out using the Classic Square Spellbinder and used the out of the box technique to cut around the fishing rod.  Some vintage photo distress ink, a little distressing with the Tim Holtz distressing tool and vintage bakers twine finishes the design off.
I hope that you like it, pop over to the Digi Stamp Boutique and have a look around, there are some smashing images to choose from click on.http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/to have a peep.

Must dash now we have a fabulous day planned with Caroline Whatling teaching a Molly Bloom Christmas box project and I am a student!!!! I have promised to behave and listen to teach!!!  I will try to take some pictures so that you can see what we have been getting up to.

I hope that you enjoy a lovely weekend, that the weather is kind to you and that you have time to fit in some well deserved crafting time.

Pop over to have a look at the great projects the DT girls have done and hope is encourages you to have a go at the challenge this week.

Week 169 - A Gift

Good Morning Crafters,

I hope this finds you all well and happy.  This is a very quick post this morning as I have a very busy day - we go to the airport tonight after we close the shop and fly on holiday tomorrow for 8 days!!!!
Turkey here we come!

But, before that ....................  calm ..............
I would like to show you my project for Brenda's excellent challenge this week for Allsorts (allsortschallenge.blogspot.com)

I thought this project that I did in a class this week would make a super gift.
I have used a Spellbinder shape MDF plaque (we sell lots of these shapes in the shop and they have become really popular and so very reasonable)
I have crackled the background using Sheena's crackle technique with acrylic paint on the first layer, a layer of PVA glue and magnolia emulsion on the top.  To make it look even more distressed I have used Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges.
The decoupage that I have used is from the Jayne Shasky CD rom from the lovely Joanna Sheen which I sprayed with Spray and Shine from Crafters Companion - it finishes a decoupage off really nicely.
The sentiment is also from the CD rom from the Calligraphy section and again I have edged it with VP.
The foliage that was added to the edges is from one of the new Spellbinder sets - Fall Leaves.  I am really loving this one such a variety of leaves to use on so many projects.

Thankyou to our lovely sponsors this week:

Challenge sponsors

and
4 images of winners choice

As always pop over to the Allsorts Challenge blog and have a peep at the gorgeous gift ideas that the girls and made - fabulous work this week and lots of ideas for giving crafty goodies for Christmas.

Must dash now I have lots to do before I can set off this evening.
I won't be around next week to post for Allsorts but please pop by the week after and I will fill you in on our holiday too!!
Bye for now and enjoy a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend,
Jo xxx

Week 165 - A Recipe

Good Morning Crafters

I hope that this finds you all well and enjoying the fabulous Olympics.  The Brits seem to be making their mark and for a small Island in comparison with the other huge nations I think we are doing a great job.

Watching the Olympics has been in snatches for me as it has been another hectic week.  I have had 3 excellent shows on C and C including my first show representing Crafty Notions. This is the first show since the terrible loss of Sarah Lawrence.  These were big shoes to fill and I must say I was nervous about making sure I did the best job that I could have done.  Having Nigel presenting was the best start to the show and it all went so well with 4 sell outs in the hour! phew!!!!

May I say a huge welcome to our lovely new members on our design team - Tracey and Sarah.  check out their blogs they are very talented girls.  I hope that you both enjoy your time at Allsorts.

This mornings Allsorts Challenge has been set by our lovely Emma and the title is A recipe.  What a great idea and a recipe with no calories - even better!!! We have been asked for a design using a certain recipe of elements and this is what I have come up with
I have chosen to make a decorative hanging using every possible Tim Holtz product!  A bit of a Ranger Fest I think on reflection!!!! As always it isn't the best photograph but have taken a couple of close ups to see more detail.

Are you ready for the list of products! First of all I took a piece of Grunge Board and cut a Labels 1 Spellbinder out. I used Distress stains - Dusty Concorde for the background - great for quick coverage -  and spritzed it with perfect pearls to add some glimmer.  I added to the background by using some paper from my stash which has a generic text on it so perfect for what I wanted.  I used Tim Holtx Flourish from Sizzix as a stencil and used Snow Cap alcohol ink to create some depth.
I then tackled the next layer with a group of tattered florals (again Sizzix) which were cut from Grunge paper and Glassine paper I also coloured the grunge paper flourish with a cocktail of alcohol ink colours (I couldn't make my mind up at this stage!)I also spritzed these with the perfect pearls too.
the butterflies were stamped onto Grunge using the lovely floral set from Hunkydory (check these out if you haven't already - fabulous designs and great value for money)
The Ideaology buttons finished off the flowers, Creative Expressions pink pearl PVA added the girly touch and Cosmic Shimmer ribbon was used for hanging.
Great fun doing this as I am sure you can see - get your newspaper ready for the inking frenzy though!! (that reminds me must get on now as I didn't tidy up after finishing quite late and I have a parchment class this morning - I don't think alcohol inks, distress stains and parchment are a match in heaven!!!

If you are around the Preston area on Sunday I have the pleasure of demonstrating at the fabulous |Inspirations shop (Hunkydory home).  The gorgeous Phil Martin will be there also trying to upstage me!!!
Very much looking forward to this always a great day and the staff are some of the best.
I have been asked to demo Tim Holtz and Ideaology products so will take my project to display,
It would be great to see you if you have a chance to pop in.

Anyway must dash.  Please pop over to the Allsorts blog to check out the other recipe ideas from our lovely team and it would be great if you left a comment about my Tim Holtz Fest!!  Get all your Ranger stash out and have a blast.
Bye for now and enjoy a lovely weekend.
Lots of crafty love
Jo xx

week 163 - Brenda's Challenge

Hello Again Everyone!

Well what a week - what has happened to our Summer!!!  Rain, rain and more rain - but it does give us all an excuse to stay in to craft.
This weeks Allsorts is being hosted by our lovely Brenda and this was a great fun challenge.  All the DT were given a kit which Brenda kindly prepared for us.  Each kit was identical and we were asked to create a design using some or all of the kit.
If you pop over to the Allsorts Blog you will see what elements that we had to play with.
This is what I came up with. (I hope you like what I have done Brenda)

I have used a grand Spellbinders Labels 1 die to make the card blank, this is one of my favourites.
It doesn't show too well on the picture but I have made a framework to go around the middle image.  I have distressed this with Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed  DI and overstamped with the Meadow flowers from a Creative Expressions stamp set.
Part of Brenda's kit was the clock face and hands die cut - I have used this as a stencil and inked through it with Walnut Stain.  The cage and bird were also die cuts and I have coloured these with Walnut Stain DI.  I I used the ribbon and the gems out of the kit to embellish the cage and frame.
The flowers have been made from punched scalloped circles, held together with a brad, sprayed and scrunched up.  I sprayed them with Perfect Pearls Copper mica spray.  A couple of Spellbinder Flourishes finished the design off.
I really enjoyed this Challenge and having checked out my fellow DT members designs we have all come up with something totally different.
Pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog to see for yourself and have a go at the Challenge.
I am in South Wales this weekend demonstrating at the lovely Dandie Crafts - what a fabulous shop that they have and such super ladies Mandy and Debbie and they are wonderful hosts.
If you are in the area it would be fabulous to see you, pop in for a cup of tea and we are having cupcakes in the afternoon!  ummmm
Thankyou for popping in and checking out my blog, please leave a comment I really appreciate hearing from you all,
Bye for now,
Jo xx

Week 148 Photo Inspiration

Good Morning My Fellow Bloggers,

Well what a fabulous week we have had with the weather - I think it is a little confused but I'm certainly not complaining!  Although the weather forecast does speak of snow at Easter!

Well lets move on from being typically English talking about the weather and let's talk about this weeks Allsorts Challenge that the lovely Debs has set for us.  This is the first time I have done a week with a Photograph for Inspiration.  Pop over to the Allsorts Blog and it will be explained to you much better than I can!  Basically you are given a group of photographs and whatever inspires you from these you use to create your project for this week.  The colours and flowers all inspired me to make this card

The stamp set that I have used is from the fabulous Jayne Shasky that I am sure you have all heard me going on about both in the shop and on C and C.  She has produced a CD Rom with the most amazing images entitled the Heart of the Garden and now we have 3 sets of stamps with the same images to play with.  Joanna Sheen has produced both the CD and the stamps and the quality is fabulous.
The set that I have taken this gorgeous image from is called A Slice of Heaven.  It really shouted out Spring and hopefully you will agree links in with the photograph that Debs has given us.
I have also used some of the backing paper from the CD Rom.  The frame has been embossed with the Bark embossing folder from Creative Expression and I have used distress inks (of course!) to ink around the edges.  Pro-markers were used to colour the stamped image and you may not be able to pick this out, but, I have glittered the tiny flowers to give them a bit of sparkle.
I have also used Nellie Snellen punches that emboss too to finish off the framework.

I hope that you will pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog to see what you are inspired to do. I am very much looking forward to seeing what you all create from looking at the photograph.

I have quite a busy day ahead as I am going to teach at a Dabble Day for the lovely Jean at Busy Bees which is being held at Beighton Sports Centre, Nr Sheffield.  Jean has a fabulous shop in the Market Square in Sheffield and she holds regular Dabble Days throughout the year and they are a fabulous day.  Today I will be showing the ladies and gentlemen how to decorate a plaque using the Jayne Shasky CD Rom, Crackle paint technique and inks so I hope that they enjoy themselves!
If you are in the area of Sheffield pop along to Jean's shop and you will find details on her blog of all the activities that are planned http://wwwbusybeescrafts-busybeescrafts.blogspot.co.uk/.
Do pop over and join in the fun of the Challenge as always there are great prizes to be had and the Design Team are showing you what has inspired them to do.

I hope that you all enjoy a fabulous weekend and all of you that have given something up for Lent it is only 1 week until you can indulge in what you have given up!  (Mine has been chocolate and Good Friday cant come fast enough!!!!  Lol)
Bye for now
and thank you as ever for all your fabulous comments

Week 145 - Say it with flowers

Hello Everyone!

I hope that this finds you all well and happy and have had a great week - has anyone done anything really exciting that they want to share?

I have been busy doing loads of paperwork for the shop .........  boring, but it has to be done unfortunately, I have also been doing lots of orders for Mother's Day too which I love.

This week on the Allsorts Challenge is all about flowers.  I am sure that there isn't any crafter out there that will struggle to do a card with this title.

I have chosen one of my Indigo Blu cards that we did in a workshop last week at the shop.  I am just loving these stamps. Kay and Alfie are doing a fabulous job tempting us with such gorgeous designs.
This particular stamp is the Anemone corner which I must say is one of my favourites.  I decided to use the guilding flakes with it and I chose Yorkshire Dales as it has a good percentage of green mixed with copper - a gorgeous mix.  I applied Flitter Glu to the stamp and then used the flake.  This technique is so straight forward but so effective.  The colour on the image is from promarker cool aqua (I think! it was something aqua anyway!!) Just take care not to colour over the flake as it will rub it off a little.
The words were from the same stamp set and I used Labels 1 Spellbinder and added Bundled Sage DI to put a little colour around the edges.
A piece of organza ribbon and Creative Expressions Pearl glue finishes off the design.
I hope that you are tempted to have a go with the Indigo Blu stamps and the Flitter Glu - you will enjoy using it - everyone in the class certainly did!

As always the other members of the DT for Allsorts have left some gorgeous samples on the Challenge Blog so pop over and have a look.  As ever there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs.
Thank you, as ever, for stopping by.
Enjoy a lovely weekend and I hope that you pop a comment in to say hello.
Bye for now
