Week 287 - Milestone Birthdays

Good Morning Everyone,

How are you all? I hope that the answer is very well and happy - this is the answer I am looking for from you all!
Well this is the last post before the mad December month begins can you really believe it. I suppose you are all ready for the Christmas festivities which are speedily approaching.  I must say (and as I openly admitted on live t.v this week!! ) I havent made my Christmas cards yet - I have made hundreds since Christmas began in the Crafting world (May for me!) but none of them are for me to send.  So, I must try to get myself sorted and get on with it!
Well this week at Allsorts we have been asked by our lovely Team member Sarah to make a card with the idea based around Milestone Birthdays.
I made this card some time ago for a Friend for a big birthday and I thought it would raise a smile on your faces as well as hers when she received it.

I hope that you can see the main event on Ethel's gorgeous leg!! the stamps are from the Ethel and Murray range from Creative Expressions and they really are a giggle.
Although there isnt a specific age on the card I think you can gather from the image that she was in later years!
Today we have a very special guest coming to Let's Create and I have been looking forward to her return for several weeks. The lovely Kathryn Sturrock is coming to teach a workshop on flower making with clay.  I am a student! I hope she is ready for it!! lol I hope to make some fabulous flowers and show you what I have made. I will take some pictures of everyone's work and I am sure we are all going to have a great time.
Whatever you have planned for the weekend enjoy it.
Thankyou, as always, for all of your lovely comments that you leave.  I do feel that it is worth blogging when you lovely people let me know what you think to my creations.
Don't forget to pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog and have a peep at the lovely creations from the Design Team.  There are some fab prizes up for grabs as usual to have a go at entering the Challenge.
Must dash and get my seat in the classroom! what a novelty!
Bye for now,
Jo xx

Week 277 - Use a film title as your inspiration!

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm back! My sincere apologies for my absence from the blog.  I have been having treatment at hospital over the last 3 weeks and unfortunately it has been a little bit more than I was expecting and there was a lot of R and R to be had in between each treatment.  Wednesday was my last treatment and now we wait to see if it has been successful.
I have missed doing the blog.  I am sorry that I couldn't start my Christmas inspiration with a post every day in September but as mentioned things didn't quite go to plan.
I am starting this now on Monday 22nd and will post a Christmas project everyday for a month and hope that this inspires you to crack on with your projects.
I will be giving away some blog candy so please  leave a comment to be in with a chance to win some stash!

Anyhow to today's job in hand - its Saturday so it is the Allsorts Challenge.  Thankyou to the girls on the team for being so patient and allowing me time off.

Today the Team have been asked by our lovely Teamie Wendy to

"Use a film title as inspiration"

and I have chosen

"The Battle of Britain"
1969 British World War 2 film starring Micheal Cain, Lawrence Olivia, Trevor Howard,
Kenneth Moore and Ian Mc Shane

We are very lucky in Coningsby as we have the Battle of Britain Memorial flight stationed at the RAF base.  At the moment we also have the Canadian Lancaster (Vera) over here on a visit so we have seen some amazing flying displays lately.  You have perhaps seen them around your area as they have also been touring the country.

The base card is made from Kraft card and I have used a topper with the Spitfire on. The paper with the British map was from a paperpack from DCWV.  The poppies were from Sheena Douglass paint fusion illustrations which I thought fitted the project nicely.  A few metal embellishments finished this off.

I would love to hear what you think to my project and let me know if you have been a lucky one to view the Memorial Flight too.

Today at the shop we have the fabulously talented Kathryn Sturrock demonstrating skills using clays and moulds.  I am really looking forward to it as I so admire her work and need to have a go at it!!

Please don't forget to pop in on Monday and each day for the month to check out my Christmas Inspiration.  This time it will be there I promise!!!
Thankyou again for your patience and please comment if you have time.
Pop over to the Allsorts Challenge see what my other team members have done with this title - they are really lovely designs as usual.

Enjoy a fabulous weekend,
Bye for now
Jo xx
