Week 299 - The Colour Purple

Good Morning Everyone,

Thankyou for joining me again and a special welcome to all of my new followers.  I hope that you enjoy checking in at my blog and hope that you are inspired with some of my projects.
Today, as usual on a Saturday, it is the Allsorts Challenge day and it is my week to host the Challenge for this week.

I have chosen the following as the Challenge ~

The Colour Purple
and this is my project ~

A real Cadbury purple adorable scorable cardstock really makes this pop!
I have used Creative Expressions - Sue Wilson design Gemini Dye - Lyra.
The border has been cut out of Centura Pearl from the Scandanavian collection again from Creative Expressions and the flowers are the Daisy from Cheery Lynn.
This is quite a clean and simple idea really.
We have these dies on the website if you are interested - you will find it at
Let's Create are also sponsoring the Challenge this week and the prize is a £10.00 voucher for the lucky winner to spend on the website.
Please pop over to the Challenge site to have a look at the other team members ideas.
Thankyou, again, for popping in and hope you enjoyed what I had to offer.
Dont forget to pop in again on Tuesday to see what I have to show you.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Bye for now
Jo xx

Good Tuesday morning to you all!

This morning will be the last day of the Trade show at the NEC in Birmingham and we have seen some fabulous new crafting goodies to order and have to put on our website and in our shop.
Today I am a little Die festival in this sample - Tattered Lace to be more precise.

There are various dies in this project but the main one is which is the main focal point is the very pretty Hummingbird which really is a fabulous die.  I have cut the top layer in white pearl and then used a lovely aqua card stock to make a background solid piece for the backing.  The aperture has been made using the decorative rectangle die set that came out with the latest of the Panorama dies.  Some filigree flourishes and rolled roses make it a really pretty decoration around the aperture.
I really enjoy using this colour scheme as it looks so fresh and clean looking.
I hope that you like my project and, as you know, I love to hear what your thoughts are so please leave me a comment if you have time.
Please pop back in on Thursday when I will have another project to share with you.
thankyou all, as always,
Bye for now

Allsorts Challenge - Anything but a Birthday

Good Morning Everybody,

Firstly, I need to apologise for not blogging this week.  I don't normally moan but I have had a difficult week with health problems and all focus has been on my work.
Anyway back to the Jo that you usually get!!!
It is Saturday so that means its Allsorts Challenge Day and today our lovely Team mate Tracey has asked us to create around the title...................

Anything but a Birthday!

I think this is a great title and will show us some fabulous creations for lots of other occasions I am sure.

I am throwing a little Love into the mix! with a card design that could be for an Anniversary, Valentine or a Wedding card.

I have used one of the Crafters Companion Create a Card dies which I love as it does all of the work for you.
I have teamed it with one of my most favourite stamps from the lovely Sheena Douglass.  It is the Rambling rose stamp, one of her very early designs when she was working with Creative Expressions.  I love to stamp it several times and decoupage it up.  On this occasion I have coloured the image with pro-markers.

Also this week I have been busy making samples for the Tattered Lace Pick of the Week shows (which have proven to be a Pick of a Day! as it has sold so quickly!)
This is one of the samples I have made using the new Royal Anne die and matching border

They really are spectacular dies.

We are away at the Annual Trade Show from Sunday for a few days and can't wait to bring back some fabulous ideas and gorgeous goodies so keep an eye open for lots of these coming up on the blog soon.
Just a quick reminder that we still have the February special discount on our website until tomorrow evening.  You will receive a 10% discount on your order which will be taken off at the checkout. Please dont forget to put the code FEB14 in to get your discount.

I am promising to be back to some normality and post on each day that has a 'T' in it!!
so Saturday - done!, Tuesday and Thursday are on their way so hope that you can keep popping in and leave a comment if you have time.
Thankyou, as always, for spending the time to pop in,
Bye for now

Week - Allsorts Challenge

Good Morning Everybody,

Welcome to you all to another Saturday and to the Allsorts Challenge.
I hope that this finds you really well and looking forward to a lovely weekend.
Today our team member Brenda who has chosen a very apt title for the Challenge

'Love is all around'

and this is a project that I demonstrated on Create and Craft a couple of weeks ago -

A little shabby chic using the Pocket full of dreams paper kit and some gorgeous Tattered Lace dies and embossing folder.  I have distressed the edges of the matting and layering so that it suits the Shabby chic appearance.  The hesian ribbon with the lace and pearls finishes the design off.
Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge to have a look at the other designs from the team.
I really enjoyed blogging everyday in January and I have had some lovely comments so, although I cannot commit to blogging everyday,  I have decided to post everyday that has a 'T' in it!! So Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday! I hope that you can join me and post a comment.

This weekend on our website - letscreateartandcrafts.co.uk we have a special offer - 10% when you place an order using the code FEB14.  We have just put all of the new Sue Wilson and Joanna Sheen dies on for you to have a look at! ummmmmm enjoy!!

I have a children's craft birthday party to sort out today and we are expecting 28 children!! so must get everything sorted!
Please leave a comment on todays project if you have a minute and thankyou again for popping in.
Bye for now

And the winner is ...............!

Hello Everyone,

Thankyou so much for all of your support and comments over the last month. I have thoroughly enjoyed blogging everyday and think it is a definate way to spend every January - it makes it flash by and now we are in February and lets hope this month is kind to us and welcomes spring nicely.
As promised I will be announcing the winner of a lovely bag of crafty goodies but firstly I would like to share the project that our lovely workshop ladies were doing yesterday ~

We had a fabulous day and everyone enjoyed it and booked to come again for another MDF Saturday project so that is very good.
The actual project started from a Candy Box mdf clock - which I would like to add is an excellent kit and fitted so well together.  I am so pleased that we stock their products in the shop.
I used napkins to cover the main walls of the clock and the majority of the class had not used napkins to decoupage before so I was really pleased to introduce this to them.  I feel that this wont be the first time! I chose quite a victorian soft pattern for my clock but I gave everyone a choice of napkins to use and they all looked amazing with all their own stamp on their projects.
I used embossed paper on the roof and slanted them to look like a shed roof. One side of the roof was left unstuck so that the battery for the clock can be replaced when necessary.
The bird was coloured with a copper buff it and then covered in Tim Holtz crackle paint to give texture.
I hope that you like the project. Let me know what you think if you have time x

and now for the winner of the Blog Candy for January Inspirations.
Before I announce the winner who has been picked at random I would like to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone, I love to blog, and, also read other people's posts and really appreciate when you give up your time to leave a comment - I can't express how much it means.

Now ...................................  less of the waffle!! .................

Thankyou to .............................

KATE FAIRBURN !!!!!!

Well done Kate!! please get in touch with me on lets.create@btinternet.com and leave me your details so that I can send you your Blog Candy goodies.

Thankyou to everyone for joining in and please keep an eye on the blog as I have decided to blog more often in the week (not just on a Saturday) it may not be everyday - some days are more challenging than others!!
I hope that you have all enjoyed a lovely weekend and hope to hear from you all soon
Bye for now
