Week 274 - Early Christmas Makes

Hello Everyone,

When you are reading this we will be on our last day of our holidays :[ but I am sure we have had a lovely time!  I always say that when the holiday comes to an end you need to come home and start back to work to save up for next years! it is a positive to get over a negative!!

This week the Team have been asked to show a project entitled:-

Early Christmas Makes

I always say that I wont start Christmas workshops until after August so that we can then get into the Christmas spirit but not whilst the sun is shining but I have actually been making samples for demonstrations, T.V and design work since the end of May so I have got into the swing of it.

This is a project that I did for Tonic Studios - I am working as part of the Design Team.
These dies were part of the Christmas Tonic show a couple of week ago and they were all stunning and so fabulous to use.
The star is a Christmas ornament and can be used on its own hanging from your tree which is lovely.
The Winter wishes are part of a set of edger dies and these flew when they were shown on T.V.
I wasn't surprised as these really were a joy to use.

I hope this gives you some inspiration and if you need some more please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge Blog where the rest of the lovely team will be able to give you some more to get you started on the road to Christmas!

Thankyou, as always for popping by and I hope that you can find a minute to pop a comment down - you know I love to hear from you x
Bye for now

Week 273 - Warm Summery Colours

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Well it has finally arrived - our week away on holiday! today we fly off to Rhodes and we are both so ready for a few days of R and R! a little sunshine would be lovely too.  I am in the throws of packing so this wont be a mega long post!
The week understandably has been a bit hectic trying to fit everything in and get all my work caught up so I wont have too much to get on with straight off the plane! We have had a couple a lovely workshops and these have been using the Joy floral stamps and I have chosen one of the projects to show you as it is perfect for this weeks Challenge ~
Warm Summery Colours

The Joy stamps are clear and very easy to use.  The print is excellent.  The whole design is in one with the gorgeous Lilly and the script in the background so we decoupaged the Lily and coloured it with Distress Pens, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.
You cant see the envelope too well but the bottom half of the design has been made using the WR Memory Keepers Envelope maker which is such a great tool and I would highly recommend it - so easy to use.
A flourish and a tag with a sentiment finished off a really lovely but quick project.

The Design Team have made some gorgeous samples this week, as usual, and if you pop over to the Allsorts Blog you can get some more inspiration.
We also have 2 fabulous sponsors this week:

and

so a massive thankyou to both of these for their support.
Must dash now, I will post next week but I m afraid that I wont be able to do any commenting as I wont be taking the lap top!
Have a lovely week and enjoy the Bank |Holiday whatever you are planning.
Bye for now

Week 272 - Use a Stencil or Mask

Hello Crafters,

Well, another week under our belts and only one week until we go on our holidays!!!
Not that I am really looking forward to it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol x
That is a week away so back to the business in hand today! as it is Saturday it is time for another Allsorts Challenge post and this week we have been asked to design a project using a stencil or a mask.
This is the card that I have chosen to show you ~

This is a card that I made for my Dad's birthday last week. He collects pocket watches so it was perfect for him. (I really should have put a chain coming from the top of the watch but didn't have one! that would have finished it off nicely)
The stencil that I have used is a Sweet Poppy and I have used the gold paste through the stencil to get the definition.  The stencil comes in 2 parts so you can put the clock face on in a different medium so I used Pinflair Buff-it in Slate colour.  I used an embossing folder on the background and coloured it with distress inks and the buff it to match in with the watch. The background papers were from my stash and the card candy finished the edges off.
I hope that this has inspired you to have a go at the Challenge - the design team have been busy again this week so pop over to the Allsorts Challenge blog to have a look.
Take care and enjoy a lovely week,
Bye for now,
Jo x

Week 271 - All Sentimental

Good Morning Crafters,

How are you all today?   It has been a busy week following a very successful Birthday celebration last Saturday.  Sheena was  absolutely amazing and demonstrated her fantastic new range of Christmas design stamps and embossing folders.  I would have like to have shown you some photographs but I am waiting for Mum to send them through from her camera as she was in charge of taking the photographs on the day!
We always run a raffle for special events at the shop and the profit from the raffle goes to one of our local charities.  We raised £93.00 this time and we are going to send it to the Emergency Blood Bikes - Lincolnshire section as they are in need of funds to keep giving us this amazing service.
the first prize was £150.00 hamper full of crafting goodies and one of our lovely customers Heidi Rice was the lucky winner and this is a picture of Mark and myself presenting it to her on Tuesday.
She was thrilled to have won and we are so pleased that she did.
I also had some Birthday Blog Candy up for grabs and the prize was a choice of a set of Sheena's Christmas stamps and the lucky winner picked at Random is .................................................................................................................................................................
...................................................................................................................................
...................................................  Carolyn B !!!!
Thankyou Carolyn for the lovely comment and well done!  please email me on lets.create@btinternet.com and let me know which set of Sheena stamps from her latest collection you would like!

As it is a Saturday morning it is also our Allsorts Challenge and it is my week to host the Challenge this week and I have chosen ~

All sentimental

as a title for you to have a go at for the Allsorts theme.  I love to put a sentiment on a card design or a canvas and there are some fabulous sentiments available either by using a rubber stamp or  computer generated.

The design that I have decided to show you is this one ~

I really enjoyed making this card - we made it in a workshop a couple of weeks ago when the theme was Crafters Companion Die-sire Dies. I love these very clever dies they really are so easy to use and create a fantastic result. The one that I have used here is called Enchanted.  I chose not to use the middle die section but used a die-d'lite frame to make an aperture so that the sentiment can be centered on the design. I cut the die out of craft card and then used chalk inks and inked through the die. The sunflowers are from Cheery Lynn and love using these as they are
so pretty. The sentiment is from a set of stamps from Paper Artsy.
I hope that you like the challenge and you will have a go this week.  We have 2 fabulous sponsors this week giving away some great prizes ~
Thankyou to them for their generosity.

Today is a busy day as we are at the Hunkydory show at Stoneleigh doing Make and Takes. We are expecting 60 people in each class throughout the day so I think we will be kept on our feet!
I will let you know how it goes!
In the meantime thankyou for popping by and please pop into the Allsorts Challenge Blog to have a look at the Design Teams gorgeous samples and this will inspire you for sure!

Must dash now and see the lovely people in the workshop room!
Take care and please leave a comment for me,
Bye for now

Week 270 - Our Favourite Things and Anniversary Blog Candy!!!

Hello my Crafty friends,

How are you all? Have you enjoyed a lovely week with all this sunshine and of course the school holidays are well on the way - its great to see all of the children enjoying time out and especially with the sun shining.

This week has been particularly busy for us at the shop as it is our 1st Anniversary at the Tattershall shop today and we are celebrating by having the lovely Sheena Douglass to demonstrate.
She is a very dear friend of Let's Create and never fails to amaze us when she comes over to demonstrate.
We have been getting all of the latest crafty stash in the shop - it is very difficult being a crafter and the owner! you really need to get your hands on everything that is new but this, of course, can't be done!!

To celebrate our first, very successful, year in the Tattershall shop I would like to give away some Blog Candy and have decided that with our fabulous friend Sheena visiting it would only be fitting to give away a set of her gorgeous new Christmas designs. The lucky winner will be able to choice from a selection that we have got in for the demonstration tomorrow.
All that I am asking you to do is leave a comment on this weeks design and then next Saturday I will ask Random org to choice a winner.

This week at Allsorts we have been asked by our lovely Tracey to design something that shows everyone what our favourite things are.

This card really shows several of my favourite crafting items:
Colour, inks, stamping, embossing and guilding wax
The stamps are from Sheena (a coincidence I might add!) and the embossing folder is from her Indian designs.
The flowers have been stamped and embossed onto heat resistant acetate and then coloured on the back using fine glitter and dries clear glue.

The pearls are from pearl drops from Pinflair.
I love using colour and inks in my work - but I am sure you know me so well by now!
Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge blog to check out the other girls favourite things - as usual there is some gorgeous work.
The sponsor for this week is Penny Black and we all know how fabulous these stamps are.

I must dash now as it is going to be a very busy day, I need to get the kettle on ready for our lovely visitors and put all of our lovely cake out! I will pop some photographs on here next week so that you can see the fun that we had.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that is a customer of Let's Create - you are the ones that have made our little palace so successful and I hope that we can bring many more Anniversary weekends to you. We really appreciate your support.

If you are in the area please pop in everyone is welcome and you will learn so much from the very talented Sheena.
Thankyou as ever for popping by and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance of grabbing a lovely stamp set!
Bye for now
Jo xx
