Hummingbird Delight

Hello Everyone,

Firstly, a very big welcome to all of my new followers - I am delighted to say that there are over 600 followers now and I appreciate everyone of you.
Today I thought I would share a project that we did in class a couple of weeks ago.
A fabulous set of stamps and matching dies from Stampendous are the main focus and we all enjoyed working with these really lovely products.

I chose to colour the images using pro-markers but it would look equally as lovely using distress ink markers or watercolour pencils.  The parts that are the dies are the 2 birds and the 2 flower heads that the birds are attached to.  They really cut so well and extremely acurate.  You can use the stamps as a stand alone project too and they work so well.
The background has been embossed using the Crafter's companion dry stone wall embossing folder which is one of the best I have used for its realistic appearance.  I embossed it onto centura pearl cardstock and then distressed it with Vintage Photo ink.
The stamped image was finished off with peeled pain distress ink around the outside and UTEE crystals to add some interest into the bottom of the picture.
I hope that you have enjoyed it as much as I did making it.
The stamps and the dies are available on our website letscreateartandcrafts.co.uk and we are still running the Spring offer of 10% off any order up to and including Good Friday and remember P and P is free over £10!
Thankyou so much for popping in and hope to see you again on Thursday.
Please leave a comment if you have time - it would be great to hear from you,
Bye for now

Week 304 - Feature a Creature

Good Morning Everyone,

Thankyou for popping in today and I apologise for being away so long.  I would like to start off today's post by thanking everyone for their kindness and love sent following my Dad passing away. It has been such a comfort to know that everyone has made time to pass on their condolences.
Welcome to all of my new followers - I really appreciate you taking to the time to have a look at what I am getting up to.  I only need another 2 to make 600! so who will you be!

It is good to be back at work and now back doing my blog - it is something I really love doing.
Today's post has been thought of by our lovely Allsorts Team member Tracey Mouse and she has asked us to -
Feature a Creature!
I feel that we are going to have fun this week checking out all of your creatures that you feature!
This is the project I have decided to show you -

My featured creature is the Bee and this card has been made up using lots of my favourite goodies and the main one is a favourite of mine I have been wanting to use so I thought it was time.
The stamps are from Paper Artsy from the fabulous JOFY range and we are really pleased to have these and other Paper Artsy stamp sets on our website - letscreateartandcrafts.co.uk
I started by creating the background using grunge paste through a honeycomb mask and also stamped with the honeycomb stamp from the set.  I then added colour with distress inks to get more texture.
I have used the other stamps in the set to bring the whole story together.  I used Spectrum Noir pencils to add definition with colour.  The sentiment and some paper banners finish the card off.
I am really pleased with the end result and hope that you do too.

Don't forget that this weekend you need to put your clocks back! and to celebrate the official start of Spring we are offering a 10% discount on all orders on the website from today until next Friday and all you need to do is add the code at the end of your shopping - the code is SPRING15
and don't forget that all orders over £10.00 are free P and P!
We have been getting some fabulous comments about how satisfied the customers are and especially the speed of the delivery and range of products so why not give us a go and check it out yourself!

Thankyou so much for popping in today and remember that I am now back blogging everyday of the week with a 'T' in it so look out for Tuesday and Thursday posts too.
Please pop over to the Allsorts Challenge blog to have a look at the other Team members projects and perhaps have a go and enter to be in with a chance to win some great prizes.
Hope you can pop in again on Tuesday
Enjoy a lovely weekend
Bye for now
Jo xx
